North Drive, Westdale Properties, Cameron Stephens Equity Capital and Originate Developments have unveiled a new design for 8 Rosehill, a 52-storey luxury residential tower just south of the Yonge and St. Clair intersection in Midtown Toronto.
The project now shifts focus toward a limited collection of larger, more private luxury residences.

Designed by Richard Wengle Architects, 8 Rosehill is intended to have a more timeless presence within the neighbourhood, expressed through the tower’s revised proportions and a material selection.
“Architecture should enrich the city for generations, not simply respond to the moment,” said project architect Richard Wengle. “At 8 Rosehill, our vision is to create a timeless residential landmark crafted in enduring materials, carefully proportioned and thoroughly detailed, bringing a sense of permanence, elegance and warmth to one of Toronto's most distinguished neighbourhoods.”

Interiors for 8 Rosehill will be designed by Trevor Wallace of Reflect Architecture. Notably, the tower will feature a maximum of three residences per floor, allowing for corner exposures and private elevator vestibules on every floor. Units will range from 1,808 to 5,903 square feet, with the option for residences to be combined to create half-floor or full-floor homes.
“8 Rosehill is an opportunity to offer something increasingly difficult to find in Toronto: a limited collection of generous, light-filled residences that provide privacy, remarkable views and the feeling of a true home,” says Jordan Morassutti, Co-Founder of North Drive. “Together with Westdale, Originate and Cameron Stephens, we are applying everything we have learned about the upmarket buyer to a tall building typology.”

The revised design comes as Toronto’s residential market conditions continue to evolve. Rather than changing the overall scale of the development, the project partners have opted to significantly reduce the number of homes within the tower.
“The building's scale hasn't changed. What's changed is the discipline to put only three homes on each floor instead of ten,” said Steve Cameron, CEO of Cameron Stephens. “That's the kind of thinking North Drive brought to this partnership.”

“When the market changes, smart players change with it,” said Mitchell Cohen, COO, Westdale Properties. “That's why we partnered with North Drive. They understand buyers who are still looking for something exceptional and know how to create residences that deliver the space, quality and confidence those buyers expect.”
Upon completion, 8 Rosehill will contain 115 residential units and will stand as one of the tallest towers in the rapidly evolving Yonge and St. Clair neighbourhood.
