Residential home builder Tridel, has unveiled its most innovative eco-friendly residence to date: the Current Suite.
Located in The Well’s Classic Series II property at 480 Front Street West, the 1,080-square-foot suite represents a leap forward in sustainable urban living, combining clean technology, modern design, and wellness-focused features. As part of Tridel’s Innovation Suites collection, the Current Suite showcases the company’s commitment to sustainability and occupant comfort. Featuring innovative technologies that reduce energy consumption, carbon emissions, and enhance livability, this suite is a bold step toward eco-conscious condominium living.
“Tridel is committed to re-imagining residential spaces through our Innovation Suites in ways that benefit people and the planet,” says Graeme Armster, Director of Innovation and Sustainability at Tridel. "Shifting away from conventional technologies in favour of smart cleantech systems not only allows us to mitigate operational and embodied emissions but also enhance resident comfort and accessibility.”
One of the standout features of the Current Suite is its self-sufficient energy system, with balcony-mounted solar panels and an integrated battery storage unit that can provide up to 10 hours of electricity during power outages.
Other key features of the Current Suite include:
• A programmable smart thermostat and modern, multi-flow HVAC fan coils that improve heating and cooling efficiency
• Customizable LED fixtures capable of matching ambient lighting to natural circadian rhythms
• Low-voltage step heat flooring that enhance indoor comfort.
• A pressurized, non-toxic acrylic sealant to optimize insulation by preventing air, moisture, and sound infiltration.
• A demand-based air filter and Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) protect against indoor pollutants and enhance air quality.
Tridel is also rethinking traditional condominium layouts in order to optimize both livability and aesthetics. Open living areas and versatile glass pocket doors allow for seamless transitions between spaces. The suite also integrates cutting-edge technologies in its laundry room, including a heat pump dryer, a smart electric water heater, and a wastewater heat recovery pipe to optimize energy usage.
Additional comfort and accessibility features of the Current Suite include built-in furniture to maximize space and reduce hallway congestion, and accessible design details like a reduced-height shower curb in order to supporting aging-in-place.
“The demand for sustainable living spaces that leverage the power, convenience, and accessibility of technology has dramatically increased in recent years, and we’re committed to meeting the moment with bold and thoughtful compositions” says Jim Ritchie, President, Tridel Group of Companies. "Our latest Innovation Suite is a truly bold step forward — not only in sustainability, but also health and wellness, convenience, accessibility, and cost-efficiency — and we are delighted to offer residents a comfortable blend of luxury and functionality."
With the Current Suite, Tridel continues to promote eco-friendly urban living, by delivering homes that prioritize the health of both residents and the environment.
