Construction is rapidly progressing on SkyTower, the centrepiece of Pinnacle International’s One Yonge community in Downtown Toronto. Once complete, the supertall tower will become Canada’s tallest building, dramatically reshaping the city’s skyline.

Designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects, the tower will rise to 106 storeys and 351.85 metres, following a recent Minor Variance approval in early 2025 that added an extra floor and increased its total height by more than six metres.

The project is the second, and tallest, phase of the One Yonge masterplan, which also includes the 65-storey Prestige, completed in 2023. Located within the Lower Yonge Precinct, the development is part of a growing high-rise residential cluster emerging along Toronto’s eastern waterfront.

Construction began in late 2020, starting with deep excavation and the buildout of the tower’s below-grade levels. After reaching grade and completing the podium and lower tower floors, vertical progress picked up considerably. At the time of writing, SkyTower has now surpassed 80 storeys, and is beginning to assert its presence from multiple vantage points across the city.

SkyTower will become the second skyscraper in Toronto to achieve supertall status — defined as buildings over 300 metres (984 feet) — following Tridel’s One Bloor West, which reached that milestone in June 2025.

Once complete, SkyTower will house over 900 residential units, along with the city’s first Le Méridien hotel, retail, amenities, and will eventually be connected to Toronto’s PATH network.

Stay tuned as we follow SkyTower’s record-breaking ascent, with topping-off expected sometime in the coming months.
